Being 12 pounds down from the 1st to final weigh in of the Lurong Championship Challenge has me feeling great! Having just given birth, my motivation was high this challenge, better yet, my commitment level was higher than ever. In addition to the many fat lbs converted to lean mass, a sense of accomplishment comes from a now 60 pound weight loss since starting CrossFit.

I've heard many times from my peers how seamless my return has been and I am truly thankful for the 38 weeks of my pregnancy I was able to continue with a modified form of my normal fitness routine. The results I've seen, at what is now 3 1/2 months postpartum, I owe to my dedication but also to the programming designed to c...

From My Beginning To Yours- Blog #56

Last Thursday my friends Julie and Katie piled in the car with me and our very overpacked suitcases. We drove all the way to Madison, Wisconsin. Equipped with too much clothing, a little bit o’ vodka and a whole lot of anxious anticipation, we arrived at the 2017 CrossFit Games!

We spent hours watching athletes compete. Awestruck as individuals as young as 14 and as mature as 60+ years old lifted weights beyond what I can currently imagine. With agility, speed and strength as well as the mental and physical capacity to push beyond their barriers; we were in the presence of the Fittest on Earth and more!

As we enjoyed the Games, Vendor Pavilion and time with other members of our TNT famil...

From My Beginning To Yours- Blog #54

Over the last two weeks I have focused more on dialing in my nutrition. Keeping a log of what I'm eating and how much, continuing to make a conscious effort to drink water consistently throughout the day instead heavily after a workout and during meals, and getting my protein in immediately after every workout as opposed to up to an hour later.

I have made it a priority to prepare myself the night before for the workout in the morning. After 1+ year of working out 4 times a week I am working on getting 5 workouts in a week.

At every stage of Fitness, a person reaches a point of plateau, a place where we feel stagnant. After reaching that point a few weeks back I talked with Coach Rochelle abou...

From My Beginning To Yours- Blog #50

With 4 days completed of the Lurong Living Summertime Challenge I'm feeling skeptically positive about the outcome of these next 4 1/2 weeks. Skeptical because I've said these words before but positive because I feel committed to this and have already felt so extremely the withdrawal of sugars and the change in my diet. In the case of this challenge, my husband has joined me in following the nutritional guidelines. The best part about this is he is much better at food prep than I am. :)

My goals for this challenge are to keep a daily food log, get back in the routine of drinking more water throughout the day, lose 10 pounds and overall clean up my eating. In turn, I'm hopeful that losing addi...

As I got into my car to go home after Friday mornings WOD, I just kept thinking..that. was. awful! 25 minutes, as many rounds as possible of 25 thrusters, 25 burpees and 25 sumo deadlift highpulls at 33 lbs...

There have been days in the past when we've all joked about skipping the workout and getting breakfast. This morning would have been the day to do it.

There may have even been a group discussion about what was open before we accepted our fate and got to work. The sweat instantly began to pour off our faces. For me, so fast, I wasn't sure if it was sweat or tears or both. Ha! The clock was steady but slow and as we took our time, counting, 1 more rep, 1 more rep, 1 more rep we eventuall...

From My Beginning To Yours- Blog #30

At the beginning of July I set out to be more mindful of small goals. Sometimes when we set long term goals for ourselves it is easy to lose sight of all the milestones along the way. For July, I told myself I would get my first double under and shave 3 minutes off my 5k. Well, my 5k plans didn't happen the way I intended; but, I'll know after this weekend how my time has improved. As far as my first double under, there are still 2 days left in the month. Lots of work has been put in but that infamous 1st continues to evade me.

This month I was able to get my first 20 inch box jump. 50+ of them in one day with no fails. For the very 1st and then 2nd time I feel comfortable doing wall balls...
