It is my 2 year anniversary and I am Athlete of the Month? What a thrill! Honestly my experience had a funny start - my first ever workout was running...just running (rude). My second workout I stood in the wrong spot and upset Matt (sorry)... and my third workout I thought Oscar was disappointed in me when I said I was not able to do a pull-up and he said, and I quote, "really?" I now know I didn't disappoint him but I was starting to think CrossFit wasn't for me until I saw her face and became a believer. Some people say to never meet your heroes but those people need to find a hero like Jackie.
Quick side note on Jackie - if you have not had the pleasure of working out with her on a weekly basis you are missing out. For starters she has the best arms at the gym, I have been saying it for 2 years now. Also, she should be the golden standard for squats - she will humbly say she shouldn't but just watch her next time. Perfection.
Anyway, this year has been quite a roller coaster for me, a lot of change has been happening but the one thing that has been a constant is the gym and the community here. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else to workout at this point. So even on my not-so-good days you will most likely find me here trying my best and cheering on my friends.... and loudly singing Ocean Avenue with Emily until Courtney turns up the speaker volume.
